The publication of the commentary on the Flexible Companies Act and the Start-up Promotion Act was celebrated on March 13, 2024, in the festive premises of Kelsen at the Austrian Parliament. The first commentary on the new law “FlexKapGG-ON”, edited by Keyvan Rastegar, Katharina Rastegar, and Rahim Rastegar, was published by Manz Verlag just one month after it entered into force.

Following the Manz annual conference “Flexibles Kapitalgesellschaftsrecht”, with Keyvan Rastegar as conference chair, the exclusive evening event took place, which provided a worthy setting for the presentation of the commentary. There were also culinary highlights, including “FlexCo-cktails”, specially created for the occasion.

On this occasion, around 100 prominent personalities from legal practice, jurisprudence, and the judiciary gathered in parliament. Heinz Korntner, publishing director of Manz, welcomed Finance Minister Magnus Brunner (ÖVP) and Georg Adler from Chancellor Karl Nehammer’s cabinet (ÖVP) as keynote speakers, as well as guests of honor Elisabeth Götze (Greens) and Peter Haubner (ÖVP).

In his opening speech, Federal Minister Brunner described the introduction of the FlexCo and employee participation as important milestones, emphasized its effect on Austria’s economy, and called for further reforms. Georg Adler, who had accompanied the reform from the very beginning, agreed with this in his laudatory speech and thanked everyone involved in the legislative process.

Last but not least, Keyvan Rastegar emphasized the need for reform in Austria: “Whether it is simplified incorporation, a company register, or return of deposits – there is still a lot to do”.
