Zahra is a seasoned transactional attorney in the firm’s New York office where she specializes in advising investment firms, impact-focused private investment funds, family offices, companies and entrepreneurs in a range of corporate and finance transactions, including private equity, M&A, venture capital and general advisory work.
Because of her broad experience and practice in a wide variety of industry sectors, Zahra brings a wholistic and business focused approach to the issues surrounding business, corporate and commercial transactions.
Prior to joining RPCK, Zahra served as Deputy General Counsel at a Florida family office, where she provided counsel in connection with the structure and negotiation of diverse venture capital, private equity and credit investments and commercial and real estate transactions. There, she drafted and negotiated convertible instruments, SAFEs, SAFTs, series financings, secondary transactions, special purpose vehicles and purchase agreements across varied industries and investment sizes.
As Director of the Intellectual Property and Ventures program at Case Western Reserve University School of Law she served the entrepreneurship and start-up community by providing counsel on general corporate, compliance, capital raising, private equity, strategic growth and IP development initiatives. As an associate with the law firm Greenberg Traurig, LLP Zahra represented Fortune 500 companies involved in IP transactions and litigation, M&A and joint venture transactions. In past roles she has advised diverse stakeholders, including small and medium enterprises and governmental entities on commercial transactions, M&A, capital raising, litigation and conflict resolution.
Before attending law school, Zahra worked in the real estate industry, working as a project engineer on the project management side of Clark Construction in the DC metro area.
Zahra has a degree in civil engineering systems from the University of Pennsylvania, School of Engineering and Applied Science, and is a graduate of Emory University School of Law. Zahra is a member of the bar in New York, Florida and Ohio and is a registered U.S. Patent Attorney.
