RPCK Partner spearheads panel discussion on exiting Impact Investments

NEW YORK, NY, November 3 – Chintan Panchal, Founding Partner of RPCK, a New York City and Vienna based corporate law firm, was a featured speaker at today’s 2nd annual GIIN | ISLP Legal Practitioners Track Annual Meeting. Attendees at the full-day event included senior attorneys, fund managers, and foundation executives, who came together to share best practices in Impact Investing. The agenda included a series of panel discussions that tackled legal challenges, investment strategies, and corruption and compliance issues.

The GIIN is the leading industry organization for impact investors, and in their combination with the International Senior Lawyers Project, have put together another excellent program. It was day full of thoughtful analysis, creative ideas and new perspectives from some of the leading practitioners in the space.”

Panchal spoke about one of the most asked about topics in impact investing – exiting impact investments, which promises to introduce more challenges to Impact Investors as the nascent field slowly matures. Topics discussed included:

– Weighing trade-offs between preserving mission and scaling portfolio companies

– Developing exit features in an illiquid market

– Structuring alternative vehicles, such as holding companies, to address limitations of close-ended funds.

Representing a number of the leading impact investors for over 6 years, RPCK’s clients have experienced some of the rare opportunities for achieving exits in impact investing. Creativity and long-term planning at the front end of an investing transaction is critical to cultivating successful exit opportunities.”

– Keyvan Rastegar

RPCK is poised to continue to lead in this exciting field. By helping our clients achieve successful exits, we can continue to demonstrate to the broader commercial market the value and benefits of impact investing strategies – and eventually move the space into the mainstream of investing activity. Then, impact can really scale.”
